Yet, its origins were far humbler, known once as the North American Watch Company.<br><br> Journey back to 1961. The streets buzzed with the spirit of change, and in this vibrant atmosphere, Gedalio Grinberg, an immigrant fueled by Cuban passion, laid the foundation for the North American Watch Company. As the 60s waned, this budding enterprise adopted Concord, a gem from the heart of Bienne, Switzerland, established in 1908.<br><br> But to truly understand Movado's essence, we must traverse even further back, to 1881. Amid the tranquil embrace of the Swiss Jura Mountains, a vision took root in the mind of the young and driven Achille Ditesheim. By 1905, this vision bore the name 'Movado', an Esperanto whisper meaning “always in motion”. And motion it saw, with over 700 unique wristwatch models gracing the world by 1920.<br><br> In the tapestry of Movado's history, 1947 shines brightly. It was then that Nathan George Horwitt, an American artist, birthed the Movado Museum Watch.
